Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Are House of Silk Flowers products live?
All our arrangements, trees and plants are artificial, requiring no watering or special care.
Are the flowers and plants really made of silk?
Even though artificial flowers and plants are often called "silk flowers", they are not actually made of silk. Our products are made of a wide range of materials such as plastics, synthetic fabrics, metal or wood.
Can I put my arrangement outside?
While we do not recommend our arrangements for outdoor use, we have many happy customers who have! We suggest placing your arrangement in a protected area (such as a covered porch) and out of direct sunlight. Turn the arrangement 1/4-1/2 turn every month. Bring the arrangement in if severe weather is predicted (such as a heavy wind or rain storm). With a little care, you can enjoy your arrangement for several seasons!
How are your plants packaged?
We take great care in our packaging. Removal instructions are included with each order to assist you in removing the plant from the packaging. When your order arrives, the plant or floral arrangement is ready to display right out of the box. Some minor shaping may be necessary.
Do I need to order a planter/vase/container for my plant or tree?
The vast majority of our items come ready to display, potted in the planter/vase/container shown in the picture. We ship exactly what you see on our website, no additional purchase is necessary to include a vase/planter. Products that come in a non-decorative nursery pot are noted as such. This pot is a hard plastic pot, weighted down, ready for you to "plant" the arrangement in the container of your choice.
How do I care for my artificial arrangement, tree or plant?
Caring for your purchase is much simpler than caring for a live plant! Simply feather dust the arrangement, tree or plants periodically.
